“You’re Fired” – The End of Jobs

Are you holding a 9 to 5 job and think your job is secured? If so, I really recommend you to watch last night’s CBS 60 Minutes program titled “You’re Fired“. Apparently, there is a trend going on with the big corporations to replace high paying high tech workers with cheaper foreign workers, mainly from India. I know because this is also happening at the company I work, even though it’s not mentioned in the 60 Minutes program. And I totally agree with the sentiment of the gentleman being interviewed in the program who got fired and forced to train his replacement from India in order to receive severance pay.  Well, this is totally against President Donald Trump’s bring American Jobs Home policy and that’s probably why so many big tech companies are against Donald Trump’s presidency, just my two political cents and I want to digress…

My take on this is to prepare yourself for the inevitable of job loss, if your job is not being replaced by a cheap foreign contractor now, it may be replaced with a robot in the near future. So, do not be complacent with your current job situation, start something on the side, a side hustle so to speak. You can start a part-time business or learn a new skill. There are plenty of free or paid resources out there. When the student is ready, the teach will appear as the saying goes.

To get started, I highly recommend you to read the book The End of Jobs: Money, Meaning and Freedom Without the 9-to-5 by Taylor Pearson, available at Amazon.

If you are interested in starting a business, I highly recommend you to take a training class with T. Harv Eker International.

And of course, I am not just preaching, I am actually doing it myself as you may find out that I launched the “SOS EDC” brand selling two products on Amazon currently and start investing in real estate. I will be no doubt going full blown if I ever got fired from my current job or the side hustle got better than the 9 to 5 job.

Wishing you the best!

Kenny L.
